Researching of the topic
I found an article on online that is a press release from a study done in Europe that was looking at the age that foreign languages are started being taught. The title of the article is "Language teaching: 50% of young Europeans learn a foreign language from primary school onwards." In most European countries, at least one foreign language starts being taught during primary school. It continues to be mandatory throughout the rest of the people's education. Some countries even recommend learning two foreign languages at a young age. By the time that European students are in secondary school, a second foreign language usually becomes mandatory as well. Of course, English is the most common language being taught in primary school. This study just shows how low American standards for languages are.

So you know I love your topic and I think the article is really interesting. I think that learning a foreign lanaguage at an early age is probablly the reason why Europeans are sometimes smarter than most Ameircans. Also being fluent in two langauges must be great for job opportunites and getting internships and stuff. Americans should adopt this way of life as well because there really isn't a reason for us not to. It only will help our youth in the long run.
Hey Kendal Christine !
I think your name is cute.
But anyway, I really enjoy your blog and love to see what types of information you come across during your studies. About the article, the information is interesting. It is interesting to find out that the Europeans are engaged in the foreign language studies at such young age. 50% of the young Europeans learning a foreign language starting in primary school is a great statistical point. It makes me wonder what their reason for the early start is and why exactly America does not foster the same idea?
I look forward to reading more about your research and studies for this course.
Great blog! Happy research!
